Marvel Fans Disappointed as Daredevil Star Cut from Spider-Man 4
Marvel fans are disappointed as Rosario Dawson confirms her scene as Claire Temple was cut from 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'.

Marvel enthusiasts were dealt a disappointing blow as Rosario Dawson, known for her role as Claire Temple in the Marvel universe, confirmed her removal from the upcoming film "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." This news comes as fans anticipated a cameo from the beloved character.

In the much-anticipated summer release, fans were looking forward to seeing not just Tom Holland's Spider-Man, but also a host of familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Confirmed appearances include Mark Ruffalo as Dr. Bruce Banner (Hulk), Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (Punisher), Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova (Black Widow), and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan (Scorpion).
Rumors had suggested that characters like Jean Grey from the X-Men and Miles Morales would also make appearances, alongside Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil. Given that Daredevil operates out of Hell’s Kitchen, which is close to Spider-Man's territory, many fans were hopeful for his inclusion.
However, Dawson's comments at GalaxyCon revealed that she filmed a scene for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" but was ultimately cut from the final version of the film. She stated:
"I had even filmed a scene for the new 'Spider-Man' movie, but I was cut."
Fans are left hoping that Dawson is not the only character facing this fate. The final trailer for the film is available for viewing, but it remains to be seen if any further surprises await.

Dawson's portrayal of Claire Temple dates back to her last appearance in the second season of "Luke Cage," marking an eight-year hiatus from the role. Introduced in "Daredevil," Temple served as a crucial link between several series, including "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist," and "The Defenders."
Despite her absence in the upcoming Spider-Man film, there is still a glimmer of hope for fans. Dawson’s acknowledgment of her cameo suggests a potential return in the anticipated series "Daredevil: Born Again," which will stream on Disney+. This series is rumored to bring back The Defenders, raising the question of how they would function without the medical expertise of Claire Temple.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is set to hit theaters in Germany on July 29, 2026.
