New Series in Development Focused on Cobie Smulders' Character from 'The Lincoln Lawyer'

The fifth season of "The Lincoln Lawyer" on Netflix is set to be its final installment, but fans can look forward to an exciting new project. Reports indicate that a series centered around Cobie Smulders' character is currently in the works.

In the concluding moments of the fourth season, viewers were introduced to Mickey Haller's (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) half-sister, Artemisia "Emi" Finch, who will be the focus of the untitled series.

In the original book series, Mickey has a half-brother, the renowned LAPD detective and later private investigator Harry Bosch. However, Amazon has already brought this character to life through the series "Bosch" and its sequel "Bosch: Legacy," featuring actor Titus Welliver. To adapt the story for "The Lincoln Lawyer," the creators chose to introduce Mickey's half-sister instead.

The concept for a series revolving around Emi, who is expected to play a significant role in the final season, originated during the fourth season's production. The creative team behind this initiative includes writers and producers Ted Humphrey, Dailyn Rodriguez, and Matthew J. Lieberman.
