On August 4, during the episode, Aurore seeks permission from Sébastien to summon Marion as part of the investigation into Lucas's death. The police officer has discovered explicit communications between Marion and Lucas dating back about a year. Sébastien grants her the go-ahead.

Aurore then interrogates Marion, presenting the mounting evidence against her and encouraging her to speak out to avoid a life sentence. Ultimately, Marion confesses to having been in a relationship with Lucas for roughly a year. As Lucas was looking for work, she introduced him to her mother, who hired him as a masseur at her hotel.

Just before the storm, Adélaïde revealed to her daughter that she had slept with Lucas. Marion confronted him on the island, but he mocked her. In a fit of rage, Marion struck him on the head with a rock and then held his head underwater to drown him.

Following this confession, Marion is taken into custody. Aurore informs Adélaïde of the news, leaving her devastated. Sébastien, on the other hand, feels a mix of sadness and disappointment.
