Discover ColourPop's Heart of Gold Collection Featuring Disney Princesses

Today, we're diving into the Heart of Gold collection by ColourPop, a captivating line that celebrates Disney princesses. Known for its frequent product renewals and innovative collections, ColourPop often collaborates with Disney, making this collection a natural addition to their offerings.

Released in August, the Heart of Gold collection features exclusive shades of Super Shock Shadows inspired by beloved Disney characters. Shoppers had the option to purchase one of two sets, each containing the entire range for a competitive price of $62, significantly lower than the $84 total if bought individually. While the set I purchased is no longer available, the gift box remains on sale. For those interested in just one shade, individual prices are set at $7.

Although I’m not an ardent fan of Disney princesses, the variety of shades offered piqued my interest. I must admit, I preferred having all the individual products rather than the box set due to the beautifully detailed packaging.

The Products

Unlike the standard secondary packaging, each item in this collection is customized to reflect the respective Disney princess. The boxes are adorned with a soft pink hue, embodying a princess-like aesthetic.

I appreciate how each box showcases the silhouette of its princess on the side, embellished with gold accents and a raised effect. I have organized them chronologically from the oldest to the most recent princesses.

Additionally, the packaging for the Super Shock Shadows features a two-tone design: a powder pink lid with a peachy pink base. Each lid is also graced with the holographic symbol of the respective princess, adding a unique touch.

Each shade is named after a song from the princess's animated film, adding a nostalgic element to the collection.

Beauty and The Beast

Belle is represented by a glass bell housing a rose, along with her iconic companion Zip and Madame Samovar, who is depicted with a book—perfect for Belle, the book lover!

This shade is a stunning cool yellow with subtle pink glitter, reminiscent of Belle's ball gown.

Colors of the Wind

Pocahontas, the nature lover, is symbolized by tree leaves, perfectly matching her song's theme, along with a compass to guide her.

This shade features a vintage gold with delicate pink glitter.

How Far I’ll Go

Vaiana, the latest Disney princess, is represented by elements reflecting her Polynesian adventure, including a seashell and flowers on the packaging, alongside a canoe that signifies her ocean journey.

This shade is a bright champagne hue—simple yet striking.

Reflection

Mulan’s journey of self-discovery is symbolized by a hair comb and her warrior spirit, illustrated with a sword and Mushu on the back of the pack.

This shade is a beautiful coppery red with red glitter.

Once Upon A Dream

Sleeping Beauty, Aurore, is illustrated by the three Good Fairies, though I personally prefer the Maleficent film that highlights the story's antagonist.

This shade is a lovely pink with coral undertones, enhanced by golden glitter.

I see The Light

Rapunzel is represented by her iconic tower, complete with strands of her hair. The back features her favorite activities: painting and pottery.

This shade is a stunning lavender pink with golden and blue glitter, resembling a mini fireworks display.

Down In New Orleans

Though I'm not very familiar with The Princess and the Frog, Tiana's character is symbolized by her encounter with her prince, who is transformed into a frog.

This shade is a pale green with gold, pink, and blue glitter, perfect for making a statement.

Under the Sea

Ariel's desire to be a mermaid is captured beautifully, featuring Sebastian's iconic song that encourages living under the sea.

This satin turquoise shade with green and gold undertones is a favorite of mine!

Merida, the adventurous Scottish princess, is illustrated with a bow, arrow, and her belt buckle, along with natural elements.

This shade mirrors her dress color—a stunning teal blue with golden and blue glitter.

My Thoughts

I have no regrets about my impulsive purchase; the shades are truly gorgeous! They are vibrant and luminous, making a perfect addition to my Super Shock Shadows collection. I find it hard to pick a favorite, as each one delights me! Furthermore, the collection aligns perfectly with the theme, making it easy to identify which princess each shade represents.
