Hungarian Official Speaks on Ukraine's Territorial Loss: What He Said
Péter Mádjár emphasizes Ukraine's right to territorial integrity and the need for international security guarantees amid the ongoing conflict.

Ukraine is a victim of the Russian invasion and has the right to territorial integrity. The war must end. Kyiv should be provided with international security guarantees.
This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Mádjár in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
"Currently, everything is at stake in Ukraine. Many people are dying, and it is quite possible that this country will lose part of its territory. Therefore, Ukraine needs real international guarantees that can be provided," emphasized the Hungarian official.
Mádjár briefly condemned the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, whose promises were not fulfilled. According to him, security guarantees can be provided by the international community.
"Hungary cannot play a decisive role here. This is a matter for the great powers. We can provide diplomatic and humanitarian assistance, and Hungary could also be a venue for negotiations," he added.
At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized that Russia currently poses a threat to the security of all of Europe.
Recall that during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Mádjár announced Hungary's refusal to supply weapons or military equipment to Ukraine. According to him, Hungary does not plan to provide military assistance to the neighboring country.
At the same time, the Hungarian Prime Minister stresses that Ukraine has become a victim of an unprovoked attack by the Russian Federation. According to him, in the war, it is now crucial to achieve a ceasefire and long-term peace.
