Leelee Sobieski, known for her roles in films like Deep Impact, Eyes Wide Shut, and The Glass House, was a prominent figure in Hollywood during the 1990s and 2000s. However, her path took a different turn after she stepped away from the spotlight.

Sobieksi first gained major attention for her portrayal of a seductress opposite Tom Cruise in Eyes Wide Shut. By 2002, she had landed leading roles in two thrillers: The Glass House and Joy Ride. This marked a productive phase for the actress, who also appeared in films like Max, The Wicker Man, and 88 Minutes, sharing the screen with stars such as John Cusack, Nicolas Cage, and Al Pacino.

In 2009, Sobieski took on the role of Joan of Arc in a television film directed by Christian Duguay and later starred in the mini-series Dangerous Liaisons. She was given the opportunity to work with acclaimed director Michael Mann in the gangster film Public Enemies, where she acted alongside Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Marion Cotillard.

In a 2016 interview with US Weekly, Sobieski confirmed her decision to leave acting behind, stating, "I don’t make films anymore. I’m just focused on my kids. I think that’s the main reason I stopped."

Additionally, in a 2012 conversation with Vogue, she expressed her discontent with the nature of many acting roles, saying, "90% of the roles for actresses involve sexual scenes with other people, and I don’t want to do that."
