Exploring Social Issues Through Film at La Cabina Festival

The 11th edition of La Cabina, the Valencia Mediometraje Festival, is set to kick off on November 14. This year, the festival aims to challenge conventions and promote innovative storytelling while addressing pressing social issues.
One of the standout sections, titled Amalgama, features ten mediometrajes that tackle controversial topics, inviting audiences to reflect on various societal concerns. The films explore a range of issues, including life in Spanish mines, homelessness in Canada, abandoned bombs in Kurdistan, the journey along the Trans-Siberian Railway, the desire and right not to become a mother, and religious conversions. These narratives delve into the complexities of human experience across countries such as Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil, Iraq, and Germany, all competing for accolades like Best Mediometraje and Best Audiovisual Editing.
The screenings will take place at the Aula Magna of the Centre Cultural La Nau at the Universitat de València.
