Prime Video has officially greenlit the multi-camera comedy titled "DINKS," featuring June Diane Raphael and Paul Scheer as a couple navigating life together. Interestingly, the two are also partners in real life.
The title "DINKS" stands for "Dual Income No Kids," and it centers on the characters Charlie (played by Raphael) and Josh (played by Scheer) as they attempt to build a life together. Their journey includes the renovation of their dream home, which quickly turns into a comedic nightmare.
Jon Gabrus is set to play a significant role in the series, although specific details about his character remain under wraps.
The show has been developed by Marta Kauffman and Hannah K. S. Canter, with Raphael and Scheer joining Robbie Rowe Tollin and Jesse Schiller as executive producers.
Kauffman shared her thoughts on the project, stating, "I always said I wouldn’t do another multi-camera sitcom unless someone reinvented the format. Okay Goodnight and I eventually got tired of waiting, so we took matters into our own hands. What came out of it is something unique, hilarious, and heartfelt. Filming this series feels like riding a roller coaster in the dark. You have no idea where the ride will take you, but you know it will be fun."
