During the meeting, the parties discussed enhancing military assistance to Ukraine, bolstering the country's defense capabilities, preparations for the upcoming NATO summit, and coordinating allies' efforts to counter Russian aggression. There was also discussion about long-term security guarantees for Ukraine and the continuation of support from the Alliance.
Sibiga emphasized the importance of unity among allies and thanked partners for their unwavering support for Ukraine. For his part, Rutte confirmed that NATO would continue to provide assistance to Kyiv and work on strengthening the security of the Euro-Atlantic space.
The NATO Secretary General's visit to Kyiv took place against the backdrop of active diplomatic consultations ahead of the Alliance summit and ongoing Russian attacks against Ukraine.
