The U.S., Israel, and Lebanon have issued a joint statement announcing an agreement to restore the ceasefire. The document is the result of another round of negotiations facilitated by the U.S. State Department in Washington.

According to the statement, the parties have agreed to work towards a complete cessation of hostilities. One of the key conditions is the cessation of attacks by the group "Hezbollah" and the withdrawal of its forces from areas south of the Litani River. Control of these areas is to be transferred to the Lebanese army. The agreement also includes the establishment of special security zones where armed groups not under state control will not be present.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed hope that the agreements would serve as a foundation for long-term stabilization of the situation along the Israeli-Lebanese border and pave the way for broader political negotiations.

However, the situation remains tense. Despite the agreements, new shelling and airstrikes have been reported over the past day. According to Reuters, Hezbollah militants launched rockets into Israeli territory, while the Israeli army struck targets in Lebanon.

It is worth noting that on May 24, U.S. President Donald Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon for another three weeks.

However, by May 31, Israeli forces took control of the strategically important Bofor Castle in southern Lebanon and continued their advance deeper into the country, despite the previously announced ceasefire with the group "Hezbollah."
