This year's Cinema Jove showcased a remarkable initiative known as Cinema Kids, designed to engage younger audiences and make them feel integral to the festival's atmosphere.
The impact of artificial intelligence on cinema was a significant theme throughout the event, alongside the essential contributions of women as creators, screenwriters, and producers.
Numerous activities were available, including screenings of both feature films and short films (CURT CREIXENT), providing a diverse selection for attendees to enjoy.
Notable works from acclaimed filmmaker Félix Sabroso were highlighted, with personal favorites like "Perdona, bonita, pero Lucas me quería a mí" standing out. The festival featured various encounters, roundtable discussions, a summer campus, and podcasts, enriching the overall experience. Additionally, night sessions at the Centro del Carmen were dedicated to Greta Gerwig, where I had the pleasure of watching "Lady Bird" and "Little Women"—films that continue to captivate me no matter how many times I see them.
The inauguration of the festival, which I previously shared my impressions about, was a vibrant blend of music and laughter. This energy carried over to the closing ceremony, which maintained the same freshness and charisma. Awards were presented to Priscilla Delgado for "Un Futuro De Cine," the Luna de Valencia went to Rafael Manuel, and Júlia Coldwell and Lisa Limestorp received recognition for "Hundarna," among others. María Albiñana's words during the event hinted at a bright future for this beloved festival.
As we look forward to the 42nd edition, the excitement continues to build.
