Exploring the Benefits of Brewer's Yeast for Nail Health
Discover the benefits of brewer's yeast for nail health through a personal experience. Learn about dosage, effects on nails, and more.
Hello everyone!
Today, I'm stepping away from my usual nail polish posts to share my personal experience with brewer's yeast!
In previous articles, I've mentioned my struggles with brittle, peeling nails. After hearing about brewer's yeast multiple times, I decided to pick some up during my shopping trip. It's widely available in most drugstores and typically costs between €2.50 and €3.50.
I was a bit taken aback when I read the dosage recommendation at home: three times a day, five tablets each time—totaling 15 tablets daily! I thought I must have misread that. So, I decided to ignore the recommendation and started taking just two tablets per day instead. I've maintained this dosage for about 2 to 2.5 months. I intended to document the process more thoroughly, but as it often goes, life got in the way!
While I haven't noticed any improvements in my hair from the brewer's yeast, results can vary from person to person. Interestingly, our three cats, who also started taking brewer's yeast, now have incredibly silky fur, and they seem to enjoy it. Perhaps I will see some changes in my hair later on. My skin remains unchanged as well.
However: my nails have definitely improved. They aren't growing faster—something they've always done—but they are much more resilient now. Previously, if I bumped my nails, they would often tear or break down to the quick. If a nail did get a small tear and I attempted to fix it, it usually ended in disaster. Thankfully, that is now a thing of the past. I've bumped my nails a couple of times recently, and while there was a tiny crack, it held up without needing any glue or further tearing. I'm truly amazed; my nails feel stronger than ever.
I might consider increasing my dosage a bit and see if I can remember to take them regularly!
If you're dealing with issues related to your skin, hair, or nails, I recommend giving brewer's yeast tablets a try. They are affordable and unlikely to cause harm. Of course, results can vary for everyone, but trying them out might be worth it.
If you have any other great tips, feel free to share!
Until next time, your
