La Mer de Sable Launches Rain Insurance to Save Your Family Outings
Organizing a day at an amusement park with children requires logistics worthy of an invasion plan, and the weather often remains the grain of sand that can derail everything. To prevent parents from the frustration of a day ruined by downpours, La Mer de Sable now offers an option allowing free returns if rain interrupts the visit.

Weather Will No Longer Ruin Your Leisure Budget
We have all experienced that intense moment of solitude: the bags are packed, the water bottles are filled, the children are bouncing in the back seat, and suddenly, the first drops splatter on the windshield. In a park like La Mer de Sable, located in Oise and heavily focused on outdoor shows and activities, rain can quickly turn a dream day into a survival trial between makeshift shelters. This is to address this disappointment, both emotional and financial, that the park has instituted weather insurance since its reopening on April 11, 2026.
This small revolution allows visitors to no longer view ticket purchases as a risky bet on the Azores high-pressure system. For an additional €2 per person, families can buy a precious peace of mind. If the sky decides to be particularly capricious, the park commits to offering you another chance to enjoy the attractions under better conditions.
Automatic Functioning Relieves Mental Load
There is no need to chase after a manager or fill out endless forms at the reception under a downpour. The threshold is clearly defined: if more than 4 mm of rain falls during opening hours, the system activates.
The park then manages the situation proactively. Visitors who subscribed to the insurance receive an email inviting them to choose a new date for their visit. This automation avoids the need to justify dissatisfaction or keep proof of inclement weather. A light, persistent drizzle may be enough to reach this 4 mm threshold, making the option particularly relevant for this region where the weather can change in the blink of an eye.
The Date-Specific Ticket Option Becomes the Smartest Calculation
Beyond comfort, it’s also a matter of budget strategy. Until now, many parents favored the undated ticket to maintain some flexibility, despite often higher prices. With this new insurance, the calculation changes. The date-specific ticket purchased online, coupled with the weather option, ultimately costs less than a classic "freedom" entry.
In practice, an adult will pay about €30 for a date-specific ticket with insurance, compared to €32 for an undated ticket, which does not guarantee any free return if the day is rainy. It’s a clever way to secure your investment while enjoying the advantageous rates of online booking. This option, however, is only available for purchases made in advance on the park's website, a point to consider when planning your visit.
